Rosemary MacGregor’s family album.
Rosemary was born at her aunt’s house in Inverfarigaig in 1942 and spent her childhood at 20 Glenlea. This album contains a collection of photos of her family.
- Another photograph of Ina and Jimac, this time outside their home at Wester Muirnich. The photograph dates from 1929/30.
- Wester Muirnich again, this time in 1930/31. Ina is now aged 15 and between her and Jimac is James Tompson, Ina’s cousin’s husband who lived in Edinburgh.
- Ailsa (Hilliard), Rosemary’s daughter, in the Spring of 1973 at Inverfarigaig. Island Cottage is shown behind Ailsa.
- Engagement day, 3rd March 1939, for Rosemary’s parents, Ina Grant and William MacGregor. The picture is taken outside Eileen Cottage at Lower Inverfarigaig. Rosemary was born here. The cottage was owned by Mary Grant, Ina’s sister. Dr. Lamont insisted that the birth took place here as the midwife lived in Foyers and the winter weather meant that travelling further afield was unsafe.
- Rosemary MacGregor in 1946 aged 4 years old pictured outside 20 Glenlea at Foyers.
- The family around a haystack. Rosemary is on the extreme left, aged 6. Her sister Heather, aged 8, is in the centre. To the left is Rosemary’s grandfather James Grant and approaching to the right is Rosemary’s father William.
- This photograph shows Williamina (“Ina”) Grant, Rosemary’s mother, and her brother James (“Jimac”) in a school photograph taken outside Boleskine School in 1929. Ina was born in 1915 and was two years older than Jimac.
- Rosemary and her sister Heather MacGregor outside Foyers Primary School in 1947. Rosemary would be 5 years old and her sister 7.

- This photograph shows Jimac on the left, in 1940/41 aged 21 or 22 and home on leave from the war. Note the stripes on his right arm. With him is Donald McGruer. Both are Cameron Highlanders.
- William MacGregor, Rosemary’s father, pictured in 1939 outside the Foyers Hotel. William worked here as a barman.
- Another photograph from Wester Muirnich Croft in the 1920s. Jimac is sitting on the ground and the lady in the fetching hat is Catherine Grant, Jimac’s older sister.
- A group pictured in 1946/47 at Glenlea. Rosemary is at the front holding the guitar and aged four. Behind her are Birch MacDonald and his wife and their two sons
