Received photo of the clock from enquiry to web site from a lady in Forres, asking for information about the clock with inscription “Presented to Mr Duncan Munro. By the members of his singing class and other friends as a token of their regard and esteem. Stratherrick 13th April 1876”. Duncan Munro was teacher of Stratherrick School(Errogie) from 1872 and was there till 1883 .Duncan was born in Kiltarlity and married Isabella Macintosh from Forres. After leaving Errogie he was schoolmaster at Dochgarroch School and died in 1910 at Elgin. Obviously whilst in Errogie he started a singing class and the clock went to his wife’s people in Forres, or his children when he died. Though the present owners are not related as far as known they are keen to find out more about the clock and its first owner.
