Chris & Murdo Campbell and Chris Davidson. Chris and Murdo stayed at the Post Office Torness where Chris was the postmistress , Murdo was the local councilor for the area . Chris Davidson stayed at Wood Cottage, Errogie. and was the local postie .

What a happy surprise to find this wonderful picture of my beloved parents. I’m Margaret Campbell – 9th in the family of 14 – eldest now with the three youngest brothers. I’m 87 and Murdo, Ronald and Colin are all in their eighties. Our former home at Torness is much changed with the trees my father planted now blocking the view.
I didn’t know Chris Davidson. I remember our postie Mr Johnstone (can’t remember his first name) who was husband of our beloved primary teacher, Margaret Johnstone. It was only when I became a teacher myself that I realised how gifted she was – educating a variety of age groups and coping with WW2 as well as the Campbells. Not sure which was the most challenging!
