Gorthleck
The hamlet of Gorthleck including from Chapel Bridge along Lochgarthside to the Gaik at one time had Shops and Post Office . There are several Mansion Houses in the area , Gorthleck, Corriegarth, Easter Aberhaulder another one Wester Aberhaulder was burn down in the nineteen forties . Gortleck has a Public Hall “The Stratherrick Public Hall”
Gorthleck Post Office 1960c, The post office was a wooden building at South Murnich road end . The postmistress Margaret Urquhart along with her future husband Alister MacDougal are pictured outside the building. Margaret ran the PO from the fifties till the mid sixties when, she married Alister and moved to London. Allister's family ran the Post Office before Margaret . Photograph courtesy of Ann Urquhart
I wonder if anyone remembers henry Moore the laird he was from Yorkshire! His son married a local girl Betty mackintosh in 1954
