This medal is for the Foyers Public School Dux Girl for 1909 (Dux The top academic student in a school). The medal was presented by E.E.Eccles Esq, manager of the British Aluminium factory in Foyers, to Catherine McFadyen on being elected Dux Girl for 1909. There would have been a medal awarded also to the boys . The medal is hallmarked silver, assayed in Birmingham 1909 and measures just less than two inches in diameter with a scroll motif at the top and a ring for attaching to a ribbon.
